At The Library!

We have Library time with Mr. Mueller every Day 5 in the Learning Commons. Here, we read a variety of great fiction and non-fiction books, learn new things, and hang out with our friends.

Thanks Mr. Mueller for keeping such an exceptional library for us to enjoy :)

Student Bloggers!

Did you know that your child has his/her own Blog?

Yep!

Click on the link "Kid Blog" on the right side of this screen to check them out :)

Using The Web!

Here are some great photos of our friends in 3M using the Internet to learn about healthy eating.

In groups, students scanned a QR Code to bring them to the Canada Food Guide website. From there, they identified important information about each food group.

Math Strategy: Use a Table

The newest Math Strategy we've learned is how and when to use a Table.

A Table in Math is used to keep track of data and keep the data organized.

Here are some pics of our class friends using a Table to solve a math problem.

Here's the Problem:

A frog jumps a distance of 25 cm on each jump.

If the frog jumps 6 times, how far does it travel?

Show your work.

It's All About Teamwork!

Students in 3M are all about Teamwork!!!!

Class Dojo!

Students of 3M are having a blast using Class Dojo!

Class Dojo is an APP that tracks student behaviour in the classroom. We have been using it in the class for over a week now with great success and excellent results.

How it works:

When students exhibit a Positive Behaviour (Being a Good Friend, Great Helper, On-Task, Listening to Instruction, Innovative Thinking, Participating, Team Work, Persistence) they get a Dojo Point

Needs Work Behaviours (Bullying, Disrespect, No Homework, Not Listening to Instruction, Off-Task, Talking out of Turn, Unprepared) subtract a point.

At the end of each day, students receive a number indicating how they've done. A good day is usually between 15 and 20 points.

Parents can log on to classdojo.com every day and see how their child has performed that day. Parents can also use the APP to send a message about their child to the teacher. Some parents have already done this :)

Dojo Store:

Students in 3M can save their Dojo Points and buy things in our class store which is open the last 15 minutes of the day on Fridays.

Talk to your child about Class Dojo and see how excited they get about it.
