You Are What You Eat!

In Health class we're investigating the benefits of eating healthy foods such as unprocessed foods. Unprocessed foods, like raw fruits and vegetables, are better than processed foods, like fast food and candy, because they are typically lower in fat and refined (white) sugar. They are also rich in vitamins and minerals needed for healthy bodies. On top of all this, unprocessed foods are better for the environment because they take less energy to grow, harvest and ship than processed foods do. Plus, processed foods come in lots of packing that usually gets thrown in the garbage and go to the landfill.

In the activity shown in the pictures, our students are sorting pictures of unprocessed foods from processed ones.
